A 12 by 20 foot room, with a separate kitchen and bath, in the greatest city in the world -- it's the size of a living room everywhere else, but you can get to Carnegie Hall, Central Park, the Empire State building and Saks Fifth Avenue by subway.

My guess is that you're chosing $417,00 as your price point because it's the highest loan amount before you change over to a jumbo? The answer is not too much in most areas of Bergen County NJ. depending on what and where you are looking. If you are looking at forecloures then there are more options.
If you need more info on Bergen County and/ or foreclosures feel free to email me @ divanov@tocr.com.
Good Luck

Lots of Acreage but not much house on that acreage. 134 acres with a house that needs work, out building, stable, fenced and cross fenced, well and septic, recently listed for $475,000. How about 110 acres without any development for $80,000.

In Pawleys Island, SC - Allston Plantation - you can purchase a 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home with 2400 sq ft on a lake for $412,500. Within a couple of miles to the Atlantic, Intra-Coastal and challenging golf. Great location with southern charm!

In Roseville, Ca There are some short sales advertised in that price range with 2600 and 2900 square feet.
A new construction home advertised at 3681 square feet !!! That is $114 per square foot....

So we are now competitive with Tennessee.

Hi Melanie, great question! In Northampton a beautiful historic Victorian that needs just a little love on a 1/4 acre lot near Smith College, in Southampton, a high end, new construction ranch with all the bells and whistles, in Westfield, a 4Bed, 2.5 bath less than 3 years old, and in CT we've got an even bigger spread based on the community. Want a lake front cottage in Southwick, Ma or Enfield, CT - that price would get you all but the very best in either town. Thanks for getting me thinking tonight! Stacey

In Spokane Washington, 417k buys you at least 3,000-4,000 square feet, huge yard, 3 plus car garage...maybe a little acreage, granite, hardwoods and all the top of the line goodies we like to have in homes. You could have a super custom home on acreage built on this price range as well! Fun question!
