Rights of tenants in foreclosure - VA
Can anyone point me to an authoritative source that explains the tenant's rights in a foreclosure in the State of Virginia? Or offer me their layman's opinion? From what I can glean (and please correct me if this is wrong), tenant's rights end on the day the bank takes possession (that day is set by the court) and there does not appear to be a notice requirement. However, if bank sets an auction day and someone buys the place, the new owner must give 30 days notice to vacate.

Lawyers go to school for 4 years to get an undergraduate degree + 3 years lawschool = 7 years
Real estate agents do not go to school, they take a test to make sure they can add and subtract, read some ethics handbook, then they get a license. It may be better to go to a Law or Legal website to ask your question. Thu Mar 13 2008, 11:11
