Looking for a house in either Westchester or Connecticut, easy commute to Tarrytown, low taxes, good school system, large lot and newer houses, around 1.8 mil. Any recommendations for the towns? Thank you.
Why not take the time and explore Westchester and Connecticut and familiarize yourself with what each has to offer; visit a few towns; check out what is important to you, dine at a local eatery, look at the shopping, parks, etc and take it from there; you'll be glad you did and thank yourself later.

I am one of the top agents servicing Westchester county. Yorktown is only a 20 minute commute from Tarrytown and anywhere south of Yorktown (Mt. Kisco, Chappaqua, Millwood) would be an easy commute, especially if the town is close to the saw mill parkway. Please visit my website at http://www.nyhometeam.prudentialrand.com and feel free to call my cell phone with any questions! (914) 275-5988
You can try the border towns such as Dobbs Ferry, (I used to reside there), Ardsley, Irvington and Hastings. The schools in all those towns are excellent. If taxes are an issue you might want to look in Armonk, or North Stamford Ct. ( 30-40mins to Tarrytown) I deal with a great Realtor in Stamford that specializes in that area. Feel free to give me a call
Hello Mic,
My wife and I are relocating in May to Southern California - due to my new job. We've enjoyed living in the Half Moon Bay community in Croton on Hudson (right on the water) and know the schools in this district are good. Croton is about 15-20min down 9 to Tarrytown.
We are selling our townhome at HMB, feel free to check it out. We are next to the Croton-Harmon train station with a 40min commute to NYC. Very convenient.

Good luck with your search!

Easy commute to Tarrytown can be found off the 117 corridor to Briarcliff Manor and Pleasantville, stretching up to Chappaqua or over to parts of Mount Pleasant.
In terms of lower taxes and what you're seeking in terms of newer home construction, I find myself directing families to Armonk -- only 25 minutes from Tarrytown.
As for schools, the following link to School Reports should provide you with some helpful information -- http://www.houlihanlawrence.com/schools.html
HI! Tarrytown is easily accessible from many Westchester towns.... Larchmont, Rye, Scarsdale, New Rochelle, Harrison and White Plains being amongst them.. However, that list is somewhat narrowed down by taxes... White Plains - having more industry does boast lower taxes. Harrison also as a rule has lower taxes... With regard to schools, since every child has different needs, could I possibly direct your to my website where you can access Schoolreports.com. Does your child have learning differences, like sports, like the arts? All of these questions cannot be answered by good/bad schools but by a child's needs. I always recommend that parents interview schools prior to moving into a district. Also. If you would like to have a good knowledgeable agent in either the Harrison or White Plains area, please feel free to contact me, and I will direct you accordingly. Also remember that School taxes might be high in some areas, but it is money well spent in educating our children! Happy Holidays! Gay
Mic,
I was born and raised in Westchester County so I would be glad to help. Most of the county has fairly high taxes especially the ones with the better school districts. Pleasantville might be a good place for you to look. It is close to the taconic, quiet, with decent schools. I do have a lot of brand new pre-foreclosures in Westchester county if you are interested. Contact me for more info!
