My house will be auctioned off on July 13,09. Do i have to be out before then? Or how many days do i have before i have to be moved out?

In Washington state you have 21 days after the property is bought at the auction, if it is bought. Up until the minute it is sold you can still try to negotiate with the bank or the trustee or file bankruptsy.
I'm so sorry for your dilemma.
Best of luck to you.

Lilly; No you do not have to be out that day,but they (police) may give you a 24hr notice to vacate. Due to the state of the house market,Your house may not sell at the sale and the bank may take ownership and not show up for months, maybe years. You also can file bankrupcy to slow the process down.. Your best option is to list it with a realtor and start the short sale process now !! Sheriff's Sale or Courthouse?

Contact the Official (Clerk of Court or whoever) that will be conducting the sale.

The Office will be listed on the Foreclosure Papers that you were served with.

Ask that office or person.

Lilly, Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Your best bet to get a realistic timeframe is to contact your mortgage company. If they can't give you an answer, then chances are your case has been handed off to a trustee's attorney. You may have recieved some correspondence in the mail from them. You should be able to contact them by an 800 number. When you HAVE to be out depends on what happens at the auction and what the mortgage company's policy is. Sometimes you will have a few days, sometimes a few weeks. But for your peace of mind, you should probably start looking for a new place to live now. Don't wait until the last possible minute. I wish you better fortune in the future.
