Is ther really such a thing as tax foreclosure homes to buy at a real savings/?

I work for Canadian County Assessor's office and I'm not going to say that it never happens, but I have not seen many properties that went to a tax auction that didn't have several liens etc on them. Most have thousands of dollars worth of liens to the city for clean-up etc. Many have State and Federal tax liens. Be leary when you bid/attempt to purchase one of these homes and be VERY diligent on your research.
