I received a demand letter from an attorney askingfor $12,209.62 . The law firm was retained by UGRIC to collect the remaining amounts due and owing on the loan that was foreclosed on. I thought PMI was insurance. Now I am being asked to repay what the PMI insurer paid. What can I do?

You probably need to contact an attorney. Do it quickly. There are typically time limits on when you need to respond to these demand letters.
