Good Luck with your search!
We have tons of investment properties in Reading, PA fitting your discription above. Let me know your e-mail address and I can send you leads.
The city of Reading does have a lot of rehab properties with potential but you could better off investing a little more in the outskirts of Reading like Muhlenberg, Wilson, or one of the slightly higher price markets. These markets have a shorter DOM, days on market, than the city because they are more desirable areas. There a bunch of people rehabbing Reading properties because of the low prices but you could get as good if not a better return outside of the city. I can help you find these properties as well as the money necessary. Any questions let me know and good luck.
Alan...There are many properties in the City of Reading waiting to be rehabbed anywhere from $10k-$40k. The average cost of a rowhome in this city is $55k-$80k. There are a great deal of foreclosures currently. If you would like to know more on this topic, feel free to email me, prospecthome@gmail.com.

Alan...there are extensive homes available in the downtown Reading area available for rehab. I've seen homes starting as low as $36,000. Yes, I said $36,000! You might want to check on Realtor.com or right here on Trulia. Please let me know if I can be of any help to you!
Alan - You should be able to find investment property anywhere between Harrisburg and Reading. As both an investor and a Realtor I have assisted many clients in building their protfolio and the ONE KEY THING is to get your Formula and strategies aligned. There are plenty to choose from in BOTH areas so get yourself an experienced Realtor with investment experience and they will assist you in building the team you will need...Hope this helps...
Alan....you might want to try craigslist at http://craigslist.com or contat a locat Realtor to help you with this.
