If an individual purchases a home at an auction, is he responsible for paying past due HOA dues?

If the house is being foreclosed on and sold at an auction... your HOA lien would be one of the liens at the bottom of the priority list... in other words, .. don't count on collecting. We have a couple of similar situations in my HOA. Gotta weigh the choice of spending money paying an attorney to file the lien with the very low probability of actually collecting.

They can get a judgement against the owner and take a lien on any property that they own.
