Find a local realtor by clicking the "Find a Pro" in the green Trulia search bar, then type in your zip code . Read reviews and contact a few local agents. Ask them to both e-mail you list of foreclosures and to show you some homes. Choose one agent to work with and place contracts.

Hi - Are you looking for properties that are currently listed for sale that are banked owned? If so, your agent should be able to send you only MLS listings that are 'Lender Owned'. A Realtor does it right from the MLS, you will be notified as soon they come on the market. This is the only way to assure you get the most 'real-time' information. Make sure they send you only ones that are Active with no contingencies (i.e. homes sold subject to inspection, etc.).

An aside is that bank-owned is not the only way to go to find your perfect home. There are many traditional sales that are good buys too ; )

If you like this answer or if it was useful to you, a quick click on the green 'thumbs up' would be appreciated.

Realty Trac is a computer program that searches the Broward County property records for lis pendens. Foreclosures can take up to 3 years for them to list with a real estate broker. Until that point in time, they cannot be seen. If you need a home under $300,000 you will need a Realtor that watches for new listings on an hourly basis because the nice ones get multiple offers the first day they are listed. I just did 2, took one client 5 months to finally get a deal.
