Hello, I live in Massachusetts and I'm trying to buy a (pre)forclosure in Coral Springs

My mom is recently widowed and winters are too cold for her and I want to buy a home for her for the winter and maybe rent it out in the spring to help defray expenses. Does anyone have any good suggestions. I'm already prequalified for 85,000 but If I could get something for 50k I could make in Handicap accessable. I've seen a few builders that have gone out of business and new construction would be my first wish. Any input would be great

Maureen,
The counsel you have been given is excellent. But there is one comment that has not been addressed. The fact that your mother would stay in the home during the winter and rent it duting the spring to defray expenses. It needs to be pointed out that the optimal time to rent here in January through April. The demand for rental property seriously drops off near the end of april. Thus, your chances of finding a part time renter are seriously deminished. Just trying to keep it real......
Good luck,

Good Evening Maureen,

You posted in Cape Coral but mentioned Coral Springs? If you're searching for a pre-foreclosure or already foreclosed bank owned REO property in Cape Coral FL (West Gulf Coast) property prices have adjusted downward significantly and there are properties on the market in your price range.

Stop by my website to search for and see all the listings at:

Maureen, contact local realtors who deal in foreclosures and short sales. Outside of my specialty, I do not work in Coral Springs can but can recommend experienced realtors who do. Please contact me if you would like their contact information.

Hi Maureen,

I can certainly understand your moms desire to enjoy the lovely winters here in Coral Springs Florida. I'm from Michigan and understand how cold the winters up north can be.

I specialize in Pre Foreclosures and Short Sales. In fact, I have a Short Sale 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom here in Coral Springs and the ground level. It's currently listed just a bit higher than you indicate as being your price range of $85,000 but I wanted to run it by you just in case you thought it would be an option. As far as finding new construction for the price range you're looking for may prove a bit difficult here in Coral Springs. The Condo that I have and have posted a link here for you to review is priced at $99,000 as a short sale. The bathroom is located in the center of the condo and connects the Bedroom with the Kitchen. If this looks like it might be an option, please let me know or I can discuss other options with you if your prefer. Best wishes to you and your mother.
