Can a mortgage company reflect a foreclosure date in their records of 2010 when the deed was transferred to the mortgage company in 2008?

Asked by Lancaster, Highland Village, TX Fri Apr 13, 2012

The property was resold in 2009, and it reflects on my credit report as 2010.

Dispute the accuracy and see what happens with the credit bureaus.
Chances are the paperwork is so lost and /or the bank is so overwhelmed with work, they won't be able to find it and it will come off your credit report.

Errors on credit reports happen all the time.

Did a foreclosure action take place in 2010?

It was a 2nd mortgage. The last payment was made in mid-2008; deed transferred in late 2008; property resold in 2009; Did not show as foreclosure on my credit report until Oct.2010. Could this be correct?

It might have been a simple typo to them, but it impacts you. Dispute it yourself, or get a credit counseling service to dispute it for you.
Best of luck to you,

All documents would be required reviewing before anyone can render an opinion

Bruce is right. Just don't validate the debt with your dispute letter. Be vague/creative with your wording.…

Here is an e-book about credit that might be of help.
