I agree with all. Growing up in Fall River, there were some very nice neighborhoods other than the Highlands. However, now days it is a very differnt landscape.
If you do not have the time to research Fall River, may I suggest you find a buyer's agent who is familiar with the city and can do the research for you. There is no fee for a Buyer's Agent Representation. ABR's (Accredited Buyers Agents) do just that.
If there is anything I can do to assist you in finding a property that woks for you, please give me a call.

David is right. I live in Fall River. The Highlands is the top of the hill, it surrounds Charlton Memorial Hospital. It is made up of the area surrounding Highland Ave, President Ave, Robeson St., etc.
Try to get something in the highlands. By far the best area of the city. There are other good areas, but pleanty of bad ones.

Yes, let us know what good is. If good is safe, I recommend going to a fall river police station. They will be able to show you on a map which areas they feel have less incidents of crime. Invaluable information in dense urban areas, as crime tends to be very localized.
There are several rentals in the Fall River area, what are you looking for? How many bedrooms? What rental range? How much living space? Since "good" is a rather subjective measure, what is your definition of good?
