Many property managers will consideer your history in context as long as you can explain it and show that you are now stable. Start by finding an agent who will help you and who will talk with the property managers before showing. Your agent doesn't cost you a dime, since the pro[perty manager or listing agent pays ir fee (which is very small, by the way). Agents who workd with renters usually do so because someday they might turn into a Buyer.
Your agent can show you ANY property that is on the market, but they should screen them first to avoid wasting your time..Keep in mind that the owners WANT to rent their house.
Good luck,
