one??? I get paid bi-weekly but I just got a full-time job that I will start in March & I want to rent a apartment for me & my 2 children, even with a part-time job is there a way I can still get an apartment???? My credit is not the best but its not the worst either & I really need a place to stay for my kids, can anyone help me out???? We're staying in a relative's house but it was short term (6 months) now I only have less than 2 weeks to leave

It depends because each landlord has different criteria. I would looks for apartments that have monthly rents that are 20% to 35% of your gross monthly income (the Full time job income).

If you have an acceptance letter from your new employer this will help since this will be your new income starting in March. Also, some landlords/property managers will call your current and your future employers to verify your info.

Right now I rank job security and income higher than a tenant’s credit score.

Hi Mickey,

Each L/L has their own preferences when it comes to a Tenant with their credit rating.

If your credit is "Shaky".... the L/L may want extra Security deposit... and depending on your payment behavior with the L/L.... the security deposit has to be returned to after 12 months. State Law
