I am an agent and the victim of many negligent Section 8 tenants who have destroyed my properties. Section 8 doesn't help with the thousands of dollars of damages that the tenants have knowingly done to my properties. When the tenant destroys my property, I have to spend a great deal of money to evict them. When over $10,000 in damage is done to the property by a Section 8 tenant, the meagerly funded $600 or $700 in security doesn't even put a dent in the repairs I have to make. This I hope answers your question as to why it is so hard to get a Section 8 property. The Section 8 landlords are sick and tired of the treatment by some of the tenants on the program and the lack of concern for the landlords by the program. I am taking my properties off the program because I can no longer afford to support Section 8 tenants and their destructive manner.
