Hi Cece,

in my experience most landlords will not do a multi-year lease. Two main reasons:

1 - in a landlord / tenant relationship, the tenant "can" break the lease at any time and leave. They may get a negative mark on their credit or get a judgement for what they owe on the lease. It is much more difficult for a landlord to break the lease early. So most landlords seem to prefer a 1 year lease.

2 - in most cases it is difficult to negotiate a built-in rent increase upfront in a multi-year lease. They feel it is easier to increase the rents once the tenant is already living in the property.

Having said that, each landlord is different and you can probably find one that will do it.

Please, call if you would like help finding a home in the area.

There are plenty 4 bedroom rental homes with a pool in Chandler. A long term lease would be on a home by home basis and something the homeowner would need to approve of. If you want to contact me with specifics (area of Chandler, monthly rent, when you need to move into your new home, animals, single family, single level vs two levels etc), I would be happy to set up a search for you. This mls search would automatically come to your email. Your can view the homes online and get back with me on which ones you would like to see in person. My fee is paid by the seller.
