Within 20-30 minutes of the Airport, you have three school districts: Charlotte Mecklenburg, Gaston County and York County/Clover, SC. For many buyers and renters, which school attendance zone the home is within is very important. If you have a specific Mecklenburg County address and want to know which public school children living there will attend, there is a handy Mecklenburg County School Lookup site in the Trulia Blog "Which areas surrounding Charlotte would be a nice place to relocate?" http://goo.gl/V8aOK If you have school age children, I suggest that you check every address against this link and determine if the school is going to serve your child's educational needs. . Here are some rental sites that might help.

You have many options available to you. I came from the new york area seven years ago. The airport in the Charlotte area is located on the west side fo charlotte. I live in the southeastern side and can make the airport in approximately 30 minutes. So you have a wide array op options avaialble to you in terms of where to look for a place.
A major factor in finding a place is going to be the monthly amount yu are looking to spend...AS in New York parts of Charlotte are more expensive to rent than other areas. Also how large of a home you need and if there are any other criteria you need in a home.....
