when in the process of a rd loan short of keys in hand can you take a deep breathe and relax in knowing the bottom didn't fall through?

The house is definitely RD. We are financing through the bank. At least 3 or 4 times a week either the bank or the real estate agent call or text. We are at the point now that all paper work on our part is done or turned in...now we just wait,. The lawyer for title service called and said they were now working on the paper work. Sooo....now we wait??? bite our nails and hold off on packing...

It sounds like you are on the right track......The RD ride is definitely one that can stress you out! The best suggestion I can give you is to pick a lender that has proven success with RD and be proactive yourself. Make sure the house is qualified for RD, ask for the date your file was submitted to RD so you can track it's progress. Call or email your lender personally for an update once a week.

Hang on because once the ride is over hopefully you'll have a wonderful home! Best of Luck!

to add to my question- we got preapproved, found a house, made an offer, offer excepted, home inspections done, underwriters in process of whatever they do, appraisal done. Also today we see they made a inquiry on our credit again(first time was done for preapproval)...so whats next? we have heard horror stories of at the last minute the numbers fall short or something happens to cause the credit to fall through and the dream is crushed! We have been careful to make no purchases or do anything to lessen our credit standings. We haven't made the big announcement of buying a house because we are cautious. our real estate agent says we should close by the 31st or sooner and he feels very confident everything will be just fine. still we worry!
