Michael is right. to clarify his answer, the appraisal fee is paid by the buyer. It is not reimbursed to the buyer at closing. It is one of the costs of buying a home.

Hi, the appraiser gets paid for their services with the appraisal fee. The VA has approved appraisers, but they do not compensate the appraiser directly, the appraisal fee does.
