Good answer Tony! Bill, you must start to reestablish credit right now...hopefully you might have even pulled some trade lines through reaffirmation. For instance a vehicle or such. First steps first, try to get a credit card that you can use, but use wisely. Use it almost like a gas card. Buy your gas...pay it off every month. This way you establish good credit and not over extended credit and hurt yourself even more. Hope this information helps, good luck.

Depending on the program, as soon as 2 years from the date of discharge provided you have re-established credit with 0 lates or collections in the most recent 12 month period.

At least those are the current guidelines. Lenders mostly tighten their guidelines these days so you never know if they might extend that requirement.
