I strongly recommend that you work on your credit score. The better your credit score, the less interest you pay. Having good credit saves you thousands in the long run. There are many things you can do to help. I don't know of your specific situation, but here are some tips:
Pay all of your monthly bills on time Don't go over your limits on your credit cards Save some of your paycheck each month Spend less than you earn each month If it is possible, get a 2nd part-time job to pay down some of your debts a little quicker Are you considering taking out a personal loan to buy a house? Or just in general want a personal loan for something else? I have a strong financial background and could possibly give you more specific help, but I need more info. Sun Jul 13 2008, 14:16

If you are looking for a personal loan I would suggest Citifinancial or Beneficial. Beware! These places do charge high interest and taking out a personal loan may bring your scores down.
If you are looking to repair your credit and buy a home the first thing that you need to do is go tohttp:// www.optoutprescreen.com. Opt out of those "pre" quailified credit card offers for 5 years. Its free and its offered by Experian. This will boost your scores anywhere from 8-20 points in as little as two weeks. Second, you need to find out what is bringing your scores down so that you can get on the path to homeownership. Third, start saving money for your down payment. Homeownership is not that far away for you, I know that you can get there, just be diligent and have patience. FHA still offers loan to people with scores as low as 550 on purchases (with some banks). But, they do require 3% down. If you have any questions please call me at anytime I am here to help!
