Court,
Not sure who gave you the advice of not dealing with a broker....why??
Since I do both (direct lender and broker), I can tell you that the difference is not lender or broker the difference is between professional and un-professional, honest and dishonest, experienced and unexperienced etc....
As I said before, check around for rates/terms, and go with whoever makes you feel safe and can get you to the finish line.
Good luck.
Thanks everyone. If not a broker, how do i find the best lender (ie best interest rate, best terms)? Are there a top few that are known to have good deals?
Hi Court,
My advice would be to shy away from brokers in this market and go with a Direct Lender. While there are plenty of them still out there, finding a good one can be done by asking people who have experience working with them. You could always contact Gail below for some recommendations, and I certainly have some as well (Hanover Bank comes to mind). Feel free to contact our office for any further questions/recommendations.
I have several I have recommended for years and have never let my clients down. Feel free to contact me offline at Gail@GailGladstone.com for their information if you are still in need.
Hi Court,
The best advice I can give you is to go with whoever seems the most professional and can close the deal within the time frame written in the contract of sale.
The rate and terms are of course very important, but beware of promises for a rate from companies that will end up not closing the deal.
Good luck in your home search.
