Anytime! You need to visit with your lender... he will have a rate for a 30 day lock or a 45 day lock. You just need to call the lender. Easy!

You can lock whenever you want. However, right now you would have to lock for 45 days which may not have as good of a rate or price vs. what you can get for 30 days. Not horribly worse, maybe just 1/8 of a percent or a cost of an extra 1/4 discount point. The closer between the lock and the closing date, the better the pricing.

You can lock anytime, or could have locked already. Anyone that tells you any different is either misleading you or their company has an internal policy stating otherwise.
