Hi Elisabeth,

You really may want to talk to a lender in your area perhaps at the bank you may have an account at and ask them to pre-qualify you. That would be the best thing for you to do at the current time. It's hard for anyone to give you a answer to if you could qualify for a house on this website with very little information to go on and you absolutely DO NOT want to put any personal information about your finances on this site. Best of luck!

God Bless,
Josh

Simply put, If you are not working, no one is going to give you a loan. however you should check with a local mortgage broker to prequalify you or let you know what it will take to get a loan

Elisabeth,

The best thing to do is get with your bank and a loan officer there and ask them to get you prequalified. It will depend on your income, debts, down payment and potential to repay the loan. If you can't do it now, they can give you some guidelines about what it will take for you to move into a home in the future. Good luck.
