Matt,

All three answers below have validity. You may want to back up for a second though and consider if you're ready to buy a house. Damage to your credit created by a mismanaged home loan can be disastrous. Consider taking the time to get your credit profile cleaned up before proceeding. With improved scores you'll qualify for a much better rate, something your wallet will thank you for later.

I'm not saying you shouldn't buy a house, I'm just saying that if your credit scores are bad you may want to put things in order before taking on this new responsibility. Best of luck to you.

Kind regards,

Matt,

I'm quite experienced working with credit challenged borrowers. Feel free to contact me if you would like me to review your credit report or I can pull a tri-merge(showing all three credit bureaus) credit report for you.

That way you will have an idea of what you can possibly do now or if there are areas for us to work on at least you have a roadmap of where your credit profile needs to be.

Regards,
Shawn

Hi Matt,
You can get a home with any type of credit depending on the cash you have available to purchase it. The issue would be obtaining financing. There are many financing options available to obtain a home and they all have certain qualifying criteria. If your credit is a problem I would recommend speaking with someone that could analyze your credit situation and possibly assist you with making the necessary adjustments to help you improve your credit profile. This process could be much easier than you think. There is no perfect answer to your question but there are great opportunities that may be available once you connect with the right individual or company to guide you to achieving the goal of home ownership. If you do not have a personal mortgage/real estate services provider please feel free to contact me.
