I have poor credit, but a great job with a good income. I travel all over the us and need a home base. i would llike an owner finance or lease to own property. It is only me and I am home maybe 2 weeks every 4 months.
Leneeakin, Your credit can be fixed. Please see the web reference and then look on the right side of that new page. I have some great links for credit repair. Please send me an email and we can get you taken care of. Thanks and have a great day!

Leneeakin,
Unless it is a builder that has too much inventory I would not go the lease to own, Only the lessor makes out there, you will usually lose all you have into it, That is why Realtors are no longer allowed to handle Lease/option contracts.
Yes we can find some owner financed properties.
What would be better is for me to put you with a mortgage company that will tell you what and how long to repair your credit. Find you a house that is for sale and for lease and have you lease it, repair your credit and then buy it. I think this is what you really mean.

Yes there are. Some properties are listed on our MLS system. You will need a Realtor that can access the MLS and search for Lease Purchase or Owner Financed properties.
Contrary to other answers below, Lease Options are NOT illegal in Texas. There are restrictions, yes. But not illegal. You can read most blog posting on this topic. http://propmgmt.blogspot.com/2008/01/texas-lease-option-is-i
Here is a local Houston investment group that sells properties with Seller financing with little qualifications. http://swehomes.com/
Have you ever thought of a loan assumption? There are sellers in Conroe who will consider this type of transaction.
I personally don't like this idea. In my experience few people end up buying. This presents a problem as your contract normally obligates you to buy and puts your down payment at risk if you don't. If you want to rent --then do it, RENT. If you want to buy, then BUY, but don't mix the two. We've recently taken steps in Texas to prohibit these types of transactions. There are still people advertising such schemes and think they have a way around it, but the intent and content of the law is clear-NO RENT TO OWN. There's a reason for the law and that is that there were too many bad guys out there taking people's money in a lot of different ways. As a person wanting to rent you put yourself at some risk agreeing to these transactions.
Conroe is a great place to live. I've been here 14 years and would not live anywhere else. There is rarely any crime here and you are far from the big city of Houston. There are not many sellers who offer a owner financing but a Realtor can find them. Let me know if you need help. Becky Watson/ Keller Williams Realty 713-858-5261

Lease to Own is for the most part no longer legal in Texas. There were just too many problems. There will be people who tell you that it is legal or they know the loopholes, but I'd be wary of these folks unless you want to risk your money on it. I'd also be wary of most deals that involve owner financing. It is possible, but I often hear bad stories of what people think is owner financing. To offer true owner financing in Texas you want the deed in your name and the owner hold the note. Too often we see some other type of arrangement and see the person offering financing taking your money and not paying the bank where they got financing. Have you checked with a lender? Sometimes people think their credit is bad, but you can still get a loan.
