agencies. However did we get a surprise one of the credit scores that was gathered through a credit information gathering company indicates that one of the scores was lower than what we have and had been informed that it was. We have checked twice with the credit reporting agency and they have confirmed both by phone and letter a higher credit score number. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on here. We are trying to qualify for either an FHA loan or a Usda loan.

Shar,

Your credit scores change dynamically. If you have your credit report pulled a week after it was originally pulled and you've had account updates since then you'll see a change. As an example, if one of your credit cards just reported that you made a large purchase and you are now near your limit on that card, your scores will be impacted. In any case, banks will determine qualification based off the middle of the three scores, so as long as the other two haven't changed you should still be fine. Good luck.
