You will need a pre-qualification letter from a lender. I would be happy to help. We have several first time homebuyer down payment assistance programs. Joanna 773-327-3580 NMLS 230092

Good morning,

First steps:

Meet with a Local Mortgage Banker to get prequalified for mortgage financing. The Mortgage Banker will review all facets of your loan request to answer your questions with regards to the types of loans and maximum loan amounts you could qualify for.

Line up a Home Inspector. A good home inspector will scare the heck out of you: that's what you pay him for! But you'll concentrate on the fundamentals of the property: roof free of leaks, plumbing, heating and electrical up to code and in good working order. Again, when you make an offer and you have your Home Inspector ready to go, your offer will be considered with much more interest by a Seller because you truly have your "ducks in a row" and your preparation demonstrates your serious attitude about conducting the purchase transaction in a timely manner.

Find an experienced Local Realtor who works in your desired shopping area. A serious pro Realtor will refuse to show you homes until you are Prequalified for mortgage financing. Don't take offense! That Realtor doesn't want you to be disappointed and wants you to have a smooth experience as you shop for your new home.

Put together your Team of real estate professionals and shop 'til you drop!

First steps to looking for a home loan is to understand how much of a mortgage you can qualify for. Then the rest if getting a great realtor who can find a home that fits your needs and location requirements and that will lead you through the buying process.

To find out more, go to my website at https://www.guaranteedrate.com/maryKayLaurent

And pull down the e-book "Demystifying the Mortgage Process" you'll learn:
1. How to shop for and get a low cost and low rate mortgage
2. What's important to lenders in order to qualify you for a mortgage
3. What credit scores are and why they're important in the mortgage process
4. The Dos and Don'ts before applying for a mortgage
5. What documents are involved in getting a mortgage
6. The steps and timeline for getting a mortgage and buying a home

Also on my website you can apply for a mortgage, get a pre-approval letter in 10 minutes and a free credit report. Or call me during regular business hours to go through the pre-qualification process.
