So do the 28% and 36% guidelines apply to higher income families?

So do the 28% and 36% guidelines apply to higher income families? It seems to me if you are making $300K (maybe one day), and only spend 28% on housing, what the heck are you going to do with the rest of your money? I doubt a $300K family spend 5 times as much on food as a $60K family. Just curious, I wish it applied to me, but just thought of this when I was looking at all of the expensive Westfield homes. I know they are only guidelines, but are they the same guidelines the more you make?

Yes, they still apply, but they are just guidelines and usually are exceeded. Don't forget a $300k family needs the proper bling.
