Question to mortgage brokers or loan officers in S. California

When I apply for a home loan , Do you call my employer and tell them
which area I am buying a home?
Or Do you just call them to verify my employment ?

If your employer is on this list, they will not be contacted directly.

If your employer is not on that list your H.R. department will fill out a form. It's a little more involved than what has been previously mentioned.

If you are relocatiing and you are concerned that you employer finds out, you really should not worry. To be on the safeside make sure you verify this with your lender and share your concern.

Hi SSBuyer!

One thing to consider is when you turn in copies of your W2's to the bank, should you have to do that, the address of your employer is on them. I don't know if that matters but just FYI

Verifying employment is only done while you're in the escrow process to purchase a home. Typically, its done towards the end of the cycle. They will confirm basic employment info with your employer. I work with clients throughout CA.
