Is it possible to get a home mortgage loan, If someone from overseas wants to purchase a home in the U.S?

Getting a mortgage depends on your credit. If you have sufficient credit in the US or work with the same bank from the home country, you may qualify for a loan.

thanks for the reply, well the individual hasn't been in america for awhile but i'm going to let to ask their bank. thanks again.

Yes, you can buy like anyone else. but your mortgage requirements will be somewhat greater, i.e. larger down payment. if you have a good relationship with your home bank and they are an international bank that does business in the U.S. i.e. Citibank, you may find them more accommodating. But that said, you should still check with a few lenders.
