It will not affect your original note at all, but if you put him on title it may affect how and if you are able to refinance. Minnesota will give him 50% of the property whether he is on the original title or not once you are married. You could put him on Title with a quit-claim-deed or if you were to refinance you could put him on. If you have any other questions let me know.

hi...adding his name to the title isn't going to effect your credit report or the payhistory on the home at all..he's not on the note..if you are quit-claim-deeding him on to the home, don't forget, it can be done one of two ways...joint rights of survivorship, or joint tennants-in-common........if something should happen to either of you, the other is automatically conveyed the deceased's ownership interest as joint rights of survivorship, joint tennat, means that the deceased's portion of the home will go thru probate.......best of luck.bob mcclure- success mortgage partners- plymouth, michigan.......

The quick answer is no, your existing mortgage terms will not change by adding your future husband to the title. You are responsible for the financing of the home, not him.

If you are purchasing a home as a single person, take possession as a single person on the title with your name on the Mortgage, responsible for payment, it remains that way unless you add the other person in some way. May I suggest that you examine the benefits in a number of ways? Many people choose to keep their home in the original name and when they sell or refinance make a change, depending on credit situations.
