anyone know where to get a mortgage for a house in greensburg? I have okay credit. It doesnt even matter if the mortgage has a high intest rate. mortgage payments would be low and i have a steady income!
Hi Nicole,
Call Wells Fargo - they have given me the best rates consistently for the last 10+ years. Provided your credit is good, you won't need to look elsewhere.
You SHOULD take steps to improve your credit as fast as possible - this is a very good thing for you. A quick list - Always always pay bills on time (even if only partial payments), pay off your credit cards, do NOT cancel credit cards.
Good credit gets you a better rate and saves you money on your mortgage. So, if you can improve your credit between now and Sept, then buy a house in Oct - you stlll get to use the $8000 credit and you'll do better in the long run than trying to rush into a house right now with an "ok credit score".
Nicole, you really need to speak with and get qualified by a mortgage lender. Specifically, your credit score will be a big determining factor in the type of mortgages you can qualify for. Generally speaking, if you have a credit score of 620 or higher, and meet the other requirements of the program, you should be able to qualify for an FHA mortgage with a low downpayment and very good rates. Please contact me directly if you would like to discuss this in more detail.
