My score is low from a few years ago when I lost my job and got behind on everything I have almost two years pf perfect payment history since then and have repaid the credit card debts. Who can I talk to that will work with me?

Try to apply for an store credit card. buy a few items and paid the balance as soon as the bill arrives to your place. Also shop around for a reliable mortgage broker, they have access to many banks, private lenders and different financial programs.

How many revolving trade lines do you have? What is the balances you are carrying on them? I wouldn't keep letting lenders pull your credit as your credit score will be lowered. If you need further help and or advice on boosting your credit score, please give my office a call.

Do you have a capital one credit card?

I was able to boost my score by 20 points within 3 months just by accepting the card, using it once, and then paying off the entire balance.

This strategy, however, might work against you if your average credit history (between all your trade lines) is less than 2 years or if you've applied more than 3 times for credit within the last 12 months. Hard credit inquires will knock your score down a bit, but those effects are temporary and usually moderate over time.
