Take the sales price and multiply by 85% (approx amt assessed), then reduce that number by 25K (homestead) as long as it is a homesteaded property, then multiply by the mileage in that area. For that you need to look at appraiser's site or an MLS data sheet, public record.

The county appraiser's office will provide a taxable value for you, which is usually a little less than the sale/purchase price of the home. This value can then be multiplied by your "millage" rate; which is also found at your county's appraiser office.
