IS THERE A FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS PROGRAM IN KANSAS?

We live in a rural area of Kansas does anyone know if there is a FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS program available? I am aware of the Usda direct program but have hit a snag and we won't be elgibile for assistance through that program for at least six months which means that we would also miss out on the homebuyer's credit, so we are curious to find out if there are any other options available.

FHA Mortgage done by the government.
