Do mortgage brokers work with people to help put them in a position to buy down the road?
My husband and I want to buy in about a year, once we've paid down all debt and set aside enough for a small downpayment (about 5%). Our focus is on paying down debt first then saving, but I'm wonding if we're doing this in the correct order; or, should be doing them simultaneously, so we can have a larger down payment. I want to get some advice from brokers in our area, even though we aren't planning to buy right away. Anyone have any recommendations? Is this kind of help even offered by brokers if you're not buying in the immediate future?
