We have two canadian investors in year 2011 who purchased turn key properties in nicer suburbs of michigan (Macomb county)..both are north of I-696.
We can help..
Good Afternoon!! A Canadian citizen can definitely buy a home in Michigan. I just closed on one. However, it was a cash sale. The best advice I can give you is to talk to an area mortgage lender. There is no charge to ask the question. If you need the referral of one I would be happy to help.

More information is needed to give you a thorough explanation. But the basic answer is, if your parent's DO NOT have US Social Security numbers, then you will not be able to obtain financing here in the states.
But I do know that there are certain networks of people (in Florida) that specialize in foreign buyers since a lot of foreigners do buy homes there. Of course you can always obtain private funding or do a Land Contract if you think you can pay off the note in a few years some how.
There are ways to do it if you get creative. Where are you looking to buy?
