Can I refinance again under HARP program?

Asked by AlphaBuyer, Georgia Wed Feb 8, 2012

Hi,

I refinanced my house in GA under the HARP program in April 2010 at a rate of 5.375%. Am I allowed to refinance at a lower rate?

My loan amount is going to be higher than the appraised value of the home.

Angela,
They said they refinanced in April 2010. April 2010 is not March to May 2009. They don't need to speak with anyone as the answer was very simple.

No, they cannot refinance again under HARP.

Sometimes less is more and there is no need to send them on a wild goose chase to another website to find out what they were just told.

Again????? There are people out there that can't get theirs refinanced and you want to do it again???

IMHO, I hope not. Tired of all the handouts the gov't keeps giving out and people keep going back to the t*** to get more.

If you obtained your current mortgage in 2010, then HARP will NOT be an option. To be eligible for HARP, the loan must have been closed and been delivered by mid-2009.

Dear Home Buyer,

I recommend that you speak directly with a mortgage lender regarding this. My understanding is that the mortgage can not have been refinanced under HARP previously unless it is a Fannie Mae loan that was refinanced under HARP from March-May 2009. I referenced If you need a good mortgage lender I know a very good one who can help you. It also might be helpful to check out the HARP website I referenced below.
