An appraiser recently visited my house but I feel as if he didn't do a good job....

He already submitted the claim but I am not happy with the valuation. Can I get another appraiser to come out or I am stuck? Please advise?

You should ask the agent that is working for you for a good appraiser and if he can't help you find another agent.

Look at this blog it will help you to learn more about your situation.
I've got most of my answers there as well.

Good Luck.

There have been some major shifts in how appraisals are handled. Talk with your lender about options. We are having quite a few problems having the appraisals coming in at the sale price.

Ken,

Are you trying to refinance to cash-out or are you selling your property? If you are refinancing, talk to your bank or loan officer and ask if they can give you more value if you can provide accurate comparables. I just had a similar case, a client was refinancing and they give him and extra 25,000 in value when I supplied comparables of his home

Thanks,

Ken,
You can get a second appraiser to come out. There is a possibility that if you get a second one to come out, you will have to pay for it. This way you cann see if the other one was off or not. Good luck!
