Advice on USDA loan

Asked by Maira Ayala, Arlington, TX Wed May 22, 2013

I was looking at new builds in the Crowley area and was wondering if they'd qualify for USDA loan. And what the process was to get such a loan.

Hi Maria
USDA is a rural loan program based on population. Crowley does not meet those guidelines any longer as it is not rural. There are still some areas down south that do. Why were you interested in USDA loans? Are you sure that they will be a for you? There are so many coherent types of financing available, you really do need to work with an experienced realtor and loan officer to help you find what is best for you. Best of luck to you.

You need to contact a lender before you do anything, ask the lender because they will know. Use a local lender and not one online. It is a good idea to speak with a couple and see what they tell you.
