My site only shows sales (no rentals), but this may give you a better feel for some of the areas mentioned. Downtown (may be too pricy, depending on how much sq ft you need): http://www.searchforcharlestonrealestate.com/downtown-charle… Byrnes Down in West Ashley: http://www.searchforcharlestonrealestate.com/west-ashley-rea… and Park Circle in North Charleston (most affordable): http://www.searchforcharlestonrealestate.com/north-charlesto… Hope this helps, and good luck!

There are many pockets in and around Charleston with a fabulous amount of entertainment. With $1450 as your max monthly payment a great area would be Avondale. This little burg is just on the western side of the Ashley River from downtown Charleston. It is a vibrant, youthful community with craft beer bars, shops and restaurants. The homes are bungalow style making Avondale a cozy, appealing place to live.

Lavob,
Avondale in West Ashley and Downtown are certainly great choices, although Downtown will typically be more expensive unless you have roommates. Another great place to be is Park Circle near there "downtown" area . There is plenty to do there and its not far from Downtown Charleston either. I hope this is of help to you and good luck in your search. Feel free to contact me should you need anything at all.

Regards,

Check out the Avondale area of West Ashley - a nice mix of residential, shopping, and restaurants within easy walking distance. Plus you're just across the river from downtown and not too far from Folly Beach.
