Which city has a better night life: LA or SF?

FIRST ANSWER
It depends on what type of night life you're looking for. LA has more of a club scene, but S.F. has more of an underground artistic culture. Though, in reality both have equally active night scenes.
There are plenty of clubs in S.F. and plenty of clubs in LA. They're both culture rich cities.
What are some of the other considerations that you're tossing around?
