Trulia New Y…, Other/Just Looking in New York

What are the best way to score some affordable theater tickets?

Asked by Trulia New York, New York Wed Oct 24, 2012

And what's the best way to learn about some less popular/trendy cultural events and happenings?

Christine Gordon’s answer is a good deal. I saw "Bring It On" & "Wicked" through them as well as several others that were off broadway as well. Enjoy!

Looking forward,

The easiest way is to go to one of the TKTS booths. The largest one is at 47th and Broadway. They offer discounted tix to same-day shows. The Bway/47th one is huge and hard to miss. Good luck! (also check Time Out magazine for other lesser-known city happenings. Charlie Summers, Bellmarc 917-376-1648

Go to the TKTS building (the day of the show) in Times Sq and there is also one in the South Street Seaport that not many people know about. It's not as congested and crazy down there. As for underground events you can check out the various little magazines and papers in cool downtown shops (east village etc)

I have not checked it out but an out-of-town buyer came into my open house last Sunday. He mentioned If you like, check it out.
