Having a real center, there is a bit of night life. A small handful of really good restaurants, among them the historis Blue Rock Inn and the equally historic Silver Peso Bar, which seems to have been a fixture as long as the town has been in existence.

Larkspur has easy access to San Francisco via the Larkspur Ferry and the Golden Gate Bridge is a mere 12 minutes away. The weather is superb, free of fog during the day but can roll in overnight to cool things down. There is a strong community effort to maintain the aesthetics and growth. The schools are a major focus, maintaining high standards and test scores. The #1 public high school in the county, Redwood, is in Larkspur.

THe social scene is many times community oriented. Yet there are so many restaurants, not only on the main street (Magnolia) in town, but also a Larkspur Landing - across from the Ferry. Young adults find themselves at 'The Silver Peso' in town, or on tuesday nights at the 'Marin Brewery - restaurant' at Larkspur Landing. Teens go to the recreation center in Corte Madera for dances, movie nights, special events etc.
