Downtown Long Beach is the heart of the city! In the mood for fun? Head for the eclectic mix of shops, pubs and eateries along Pine Avenue. You'll enjoy the Farmer's Market on the promenade, right behind Pine Avenue Shops. Looking for family centered good times? Take the kids for a ride on an antique carousel at The Pike at Rainbow Harbor. Hunting for art? The East Village Arts District is a showcase for local and national artists.

Parks, Dining and More

Feel like a jog in the park? Head for Caesar Chavez Park & Community Center or Drake Park. Enjoy fine dining at La Traviata, L'Opera, Madison's or The Skyroom. Tour the Queen Mary ocean liner, cheer for your driver at the Long Beach Grand Prix or soak up some California sunshine at Belmont Shore's beach...and you can do it all without leaving Downtown.

Cruise Ships along the Waterfront

Stroll along the waterfront...you'll enjoy watching cruise ships come and go from the downtown Port of Long Beach terminals. Founded in 1911, the Port of Long Beach is one of the world's busiest seaports. Today, technologically up to date terminals pepper 7,600 acres of wharves here.

There is much to do in Long Beach. I am including a link so that you can Get To Know Long Beach. Here you will find many social activities for your enjoyment.

Honestly? It has some nice places, but the gangs and the homeless don't make it so nice anymore. Take it from someone who lives near there and is trying to get out. Trust me, it's not the prettiest social setting in the country. Try Belmont, they're much better and your less likely to get your money stolen.

The heart of the social scene of the city is located in Downtown Long Beach. Enjoy the many great restaurants along Pine Ave or the newly built Pike center. Here you can find movie theaters, gaming zones, and of course a wonderful place to walk along the Ocean.
