Fort Greene is one of the best places to live. Restaurant Row on Dekalb offers food from all over the globe! The Brooklyn Art Museum's plays and cinema are great. Local artists are appreciated and visitors come from the surrounding areas to enjoy the scene. Take a trip on a Saturday night and you will see it is hip, alive, and just amazing- without being overbearing and crowded like Manhattan (sorry Manhattanites ;) You have everyone from Pratt students to Fort Greene pioneers (those who have lived there before it was "hot") enjoying the Park, restaurants, bars, and cuisine.....
