Are you shopping for a Home? It may seem backwards to shop for a mortgage before you shop for the house, but there are several reasons for doing this. Shopping for a mortgage will also help if you can get “pre-approved” for the amount you’d like to borrow. This means the lender has looked over your credit and financial statement and agreed to lend you the money. Sellers like pre-approved buyers because there’s less risk the deal won’t go through. First, you’ll find out how much you can borrow, which has a lot to do with how much house you can buy.

I am guessing there is a correlation between amount paid for rent and condition or location or both. Less rent usually equates to less as far as condition or location. It is a fact of supply and demand.... more
Why entertain what other people think or say, another's opinion may not be anywhere near the best thing for you; why not simply visit the area more than once and at different times of day, and see all firsthand...... more
Good Morning Nila.
This home is currently under contract. Have you worked with a loan officer to secure a pre-qualification letter? This is needed to place offers. If you haven't , please contact me at email@example.com and I can provide you with information on several lenders. They will assist you in learning if you qualify for a loan and what is needed in the way of a down payment. If you need to rent for awhile, I can provide you with information on property managers in our community to find you a suitable home. Thank you for asking and I look forward to hearing from you. My cell is 252-339-9085. Diana... more
Water rise for the last hurricane was probably less than 5 ft. While I did not specifically view Pelican Pointe, most of the land elevations in that subdivision are well above that. The majority of hurricanes we see usually give about 5 feet of water rise. Hurricane Hazel was the last one to deal a significant blow back in 1954 where the town saw 10-15 feet of water rise.... more
You should consult with a reputable, local lender for specifics, but it is my opinion, if you can afford the payment, you should be fine. If you don't know of a good lender, talk to a realtor and they will refer you to someone. Once you are pre-qualified you can shop around for the best deal but at least you will know where you stand.... more
Price per square foot is not a great metric to look at because it misses a lot of factors. Even if you were to account for things like property condition, it is hard to factor in the size of the lot, location, and other amenities like a garage or basement.... more
You may wish to contact Trulia's customer's service department directly--and I'm sure eventually a Trulia representative will also answer your question. If you are a for sale by owner, Trulia does not allow the post; you can however try blogging about your property--if you are listed with an agent he/she can post it for you, just ask--if not, you may wish to consider any flat fee realty company that feeds into Trulia.... more
I just answered your earlier question - it seems you will be in need of a home very soon. You must contact the Housing Authority of Pasquotank County. I don't know your age, however, if you qualify - the housing authority could have a home for you.
You don't have a whole lot of time; and there is usually a waiting list. If you can't find the number, contact your local city hall - they should have a number for you with a point of contact.... more
It would be much easier on you to contact your local Housing Authority in reference to Section 8 rental properties. If you are a renter - depending on the city/location - you will be given a list of homes that have been approved. If you want to list your home the Housing Authority will contact you for an inspection and give you guidelines to follow.... more
