If you're curious about crime in that area, check out the crime statistics using websites like this: https://www.crimereports.com/ If you're not familiar with the area, I would recommend to drive the neighborhood during the day and at night. It's very quiet and beautiful. There are also GREAT views of the foothills especially on top of Wilson Dr (also a great spot to see the 4th of July fireworks).
When I bought my house I knocked on neighbor's doors asking them how long they have lived there and if they have any issues with the neighborhood. Neighbors are typically very candid. If you don't have the time to do that take a Google virtual tour using Street View and "drive" down the streets from the comforts of your own home :) El Dorado Hills is a very desirable area to live due to excellent schools and natural beauty of the area.
