Thank you for the wisdom on these deadbeats. I pretty much know the answer to all of my questions already, I just wanted to be sure I was on the right track before I lower the boom. What I am trying to accomplish is this- putting pressure on them to pay what they do owe and at the same time calling thier bluff. I feel that they are already on their way out. No disposssery needed. When we say they can "have the credit" they will ride it out and then we will be at the same old song and dance show that deadbeats have the market conered on. I just wanted to try and beat them at their own game.
We say no to the credit, they try to scramble, we get dispossery and they are out and we have at least broke even- not in the hole.
As far as the IRS, I do not want any contact, but reasonable people DO let you know when they have been hit with something such as this and DO provide evidence as such.
The rental market here is so overrun with so many homes it is very hard to get really good tenants. It is all so competitive. We do not have substandard housing but when someone can rent brand new, fully furnished cheaper you are left with the cream of the crap- not the cream of the crop.
My husband and I have been doing this 25+ years and we are both weary with all of it, over it, tired of being a part of other peoples lives we do not want to...
Thanks, Debbie... more
